Calcite (pseudo-pyritohedral) (ex Dave Bergman Collection)

From a discovery at the Shizhuyuan Mine around 2005, here we have a fantastic small cabinet which hosts excellent, gemmy, sharp, lustrous, pseudo-pyritohedral, pale straw colored Calcite crystals sitting on a layer of drusy Quartz on three-dimensional matrix. This particular habit is rarely seen from any Chinese locality. The piece is in very good condition, with only a few tiny nicks. I really love how the piece displays . The largest crystal measures 1.5 cm across. This piece would make a great addition to a worldwide Calcite suite, or a Chinese mineral collection. Very few of these pieces are available on the market now, so if you missed out when they were available, be sure to pick this one up. From the collection of Colorado mining legend, Dave Bergman who acquired the piece from his son-in-law Richard Kosnar, whose hand-written label accompanies the specimen. Dave is now retired, but among other things, he was the foreman and primary person in charge of recovering specimens at the famous Sweet Home Mine near Alma, Colorado during the late 1970s.
