Item Description

This piece is from a fairly recent find at Chenzhou featuring, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, pseudo-pyritohedral habit, very light straw colored crystals on Quartz matrix. The crystals are actually a modified rhombic scalenohedral habit, but they are not unlike pyritohedral Pyrite. The specimen is in great shape overall, and displays very well. The largest crystal measures 1.4 cm across, and would certainly make a great addition to a worldwide Calcite suite, or a collection of Chinese minerals. I have not seen many of these around, and this is one of the better pieces I have offered in the auctions in a while.
