Item Description

From the far north polar region of Russia, this quite sharp, near-floater cluster of Calcite ps. Gendonite is in excellent condition. I find the history of these to be rather intriguing, as they are multi-generational pseudomorphs involving different varieties of Calcite. They started as Ikaite (hydrous) and then alter into Glendonite (same form as Ikaite, minus the water) and finally Calcite (different crystal structure). Family history aside, this succulent-like cluster is very attractive, and with the largest crystal being a very substantial 3.9 cm, it is also quite impressive. These pseudos are actually quite rare, and the aesthetics and condition of this make it even more desirable.
