Calcite ps. Aragonite with Sulfur - old classic ex Wouter van Tichelen

This is a stunningly beautiful example of this rare, old, classic mineral combination from the ancient mines of Italy. It features snow-white, sharp crystals stark white calcite, all sparkling, that have completely replaced the earlier crystals of aragonite which make such sharp hexagonal columns. Rarely do you see the replacement so well defined, and also without damage on these upright crystals. Of the 4 in the middle, none have damage (thought there is some peripheral damage to others on the sides). The largest crystal in front is 3 cm tall. The attractive white-on-yellow look accents the geometry. This is as good as it gets for the size, as a small cabinet piece, and is from the famous pseudomorph collection of Belgian Dr. Wouter van Tichelen, which we bought in the past. Valued $2000
