Item Description

Classic cave calcite from the famous Southwest Mine at Bisbee. The sculptural 360-degree "pineapple" is composed of radiating glassy, translucent, tan scalenohedrons. A secondary overgrowth of sparkly, sugary drusy calcite gives this showy piece a very textural and exotic look. Even the mine level is known. Ex Bruce Murphy Collection and formerly in the Mark Hay Collection, a very well-known Arizona field collector. Excellent Bisbee calcite with a fine provenance.
