Calcite on Wulfenite with Mottramite

Dazzling Tsumeb specimen covered in glittering sparkles simply labeled as Calcite on Wulfenite but obviously with a lot more going on as the green color isa bonus: At first, the Wulfenite blades somewhat blend into the background until one realizes that the sharp right angle at the top is actually a huge 3.2 cm Wulfenite (defined from the back view) almost completely covered with Calcite and other minerals. Most of the Calcites appear to be small transparent rhombs some with green inclusions, almost certainly Duftite but possibly also with mottramite mixed in, while others are water clear. There also appears to be a separate microcrystalline coating on the Wulfenite (quartz) and also an unidentified light pinkish-tan mineral (dolomite?). A really fun and intriguing piece still with mysteries to solve, but that huge Wulfenite crystal is just hard to beat! Ex. A. L. McGuinness, Robert E. Reynolds collections. Old material.
