Item Description
Bizarre looking matrix on this sculptural and surreal small cabinet calcite specimen from famed Tsumeb. The striking totally weird multi-hued goethite matrix has casted a fantastic myriad of elongated tubules of a dissolved away mineral species - perhaps mimetite? The matrix resembles an empty paper wasp nest. The artistic, elongated "cap" of intergrown, glassy, translucent, complex calcite rhombs, to 1.7 cm, is a super accent and contrast to the unreal matrix. Ex Shields Flynn Tsumeb Collection. Unique matrix calcite from renowned Tsumeb. We have not seen another like it.
