Calcite on Sphalerite (Consie Prince Coll.)

Item Description

An aesthetic intergrown cluster of blocky calcite rhombs on sphalerite from the famous mines at Naica. The lustrous, translucent, light pastel-pink crystals have very intense, stepped-growth faces, which gives the piece character. A showy and excellent, 360-degree specimen, with just a bit of bruising to one calcite corner and periphery wear to one end. Older and uncommon material from the Consie Prince Collection. Much better in person.
