Item Description
An impressive, 9.6 cm, partially doubly terminated, stout flattened, calcite scalenohedron is dramatically set upright on the rubyjack sphalerite matrix. The light yellow, highly lustrous crystal has a striking, transparent, sharp termination above the translucent body. The 360-degree crystal is complemented and enhanced by the irregular stepped-growth faces on all sides and by the smaller calcites at the base. The large crystal is complete all-around and essentially pristine. The bit of bruising is out-of-sight on the back side. The base has been sawed to enhance the fine display quality of this classic and very fine large combination specimen. Older material from the 1980s or 90s from a Spanish collection.
