Item Description

Striking, opposing wheat sheaf bundles of lustrous, tranlsucent light honey-colored dogtooth calcite crystals cover this impressive and sculptural large combination specimen from the famous Minerva No. 1 Mine. Many of the calcites have white tips, which adds much color and character. The large 5.3 cm compound scalenohedron on the edge is doubly terminated and the other prominent crystal is 4.2 cm tall. The interior is pristine on this very showy large piece. The underlying matrix is massive sphalerite. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 1997. A classic and excellent large calcite combination of this style from the locale.
