Calcite on Quartz w/ Pyrite & Dolomite (Payne Coll.)

Item Description

A unsuspecting and really cute two-sided combination miniature from this famous and ancient locale. The aesthetic "front" is composed of stacked, very glassy calcite disks resting on a matrix of lustrous pyritohedrons with a secondary coating of tiny sparkly dolomite rhombs. Sparkly drusy quartz is noted at the top of one of the stacks. The back shows that the rhombs grew on two glassy quartz crystals, one being a scepter! Pristine and very fine combination material from the Cynthia Payne Calcite Collection. BETTER IN PERSON.
