The dramatically placed, unusual looking calcite crystals, to 2.7 cm, on this sculptural and aesthetic large combination strongly resemble orthorhombic witherite crystals. However, these are composed of two generations of calcites crystals - frosted multi-hued nailhead spar crystals over scalenohedrons! The calcites rest on a triangular matrix plate covered with glassy quartz points. Pohla combinations of this style and quality are very uncommon and this is an exceptional example.
