Calcite on Quartz (Tom Wolfe Coll.)

Item Description

A sculptural and excellent small cabinet calcite and quartz combination from the well-known Valenciana Mine at historic Guanajuato. Four intergrown complex, creamy calcite rhombs are aesthetically set on the needle quartz matrix plate. The translucent rhombs have an intereseting matte finish and the large doubly terminated crystal is 3.0 cm. All four rhombs are pristine. Calcite is not that common from here and this is a rare and fine combination example of this style. Choice material from the Tom Wolfe Calcite Collection, with even the mine level known.
