Item Description
A hard to find display quality Calcite specimen labeled as coming from Sonnblick, Salzburg, Austria featuring a stout, translucent, pale yellow colored scalenohedral crystal group sitting atop slightly smoky colored Quartz crystal matrix. The Calcite group measures 6.2 cm long, and is in good condition overall, though the lower portion does have a contacted / cleaved area. While Calcite and Quartz are by no means rare species, I am having a hard time finding another piece like this from Sonnblick. If you collect Alpine minerals or specimens from Europe, be sure to pick up this attractive piece.
