Item Description
A RARE and impresssive large combination specimen from Loganport, Indiana. Mineral specimens of ANY species are rare from the four Silurian-aged limestone quarries, that MINDAT lists for Logansport. A striking, about 8.0 cm, well-formed translucent nailhead spar calcite crystal with frosted faces is dramatically set in a large 16.0 cm geode lined with sparkly contrasting snow-white drusy quartz crystals. The geode, with a hole in the back, is set on limestone matrix that includes a mollusc or brachiopod fragment, adding pizzazz. Oustanding and rare large combination material from the George Feist Collection # 1634. 9.3 pounds or 4.2 kilos mass. A MUST for the Indiana or species collector!
