Calcite on Pyrite

Item Description

A beautiful association specimen of the classic Calcites from the Boldut Mine. The piece hosts attractive, compressed highly modified rhombic, gemmy colorless / white crystals of Calcite measuring up to 7 mm across sitting on a matrix of Pyrite with minor Sphalerite on the base. The piece is in great shape overall, with only superficial roughness around the edges. You just don't see this material on the market these days from Boldut on the market, and if you collect Romanian minerals, or worldwide Calcites or just carbonates, don't miss out on this one.
