Impressive and RARE large mounded combination plate from the well-known Remedios Mine at historic Taxco. Beautiful, bright iridescent, golden and brassy spherical aggregates of pyritohedrons are strikingly complemented by the rich covering of clusters of glassy, translucent dogtooth calcite crystals. Pyrite specimens are rare from the old silver mines at Taxco. Essentially pristine. The pyrites are pristine and it's hard to see the few bruised calcite crystals, for all the crystal density.
