Item Description
Two sculptural interpenetrating calcite rhombohedrons are aesthetically set on the basalt matrix covered with contrasting mint-green prehnite crystals. The lustrous, blocky, transparent to translucent light honey-yellow rhombs have frosted satin luster faces and have a warm glow, when backlit. The trivial edge bruising is certainly only a modest detraction. Ghostly white fluorescence. See the 2010 Mineralogical Record article in Vol. 41, No. 2. Ex Cynthia Payne Calcite Collection. Classic and excellent older combination material from this famous New Jersey traprock quarry. Unique and rare USA material!
