Item Description

A really showy and attractive specimen from Schlema. Sharp, well-formed, compressed scalenohedral crystals of soft golden color Calcite are perched on beautiful. Small studded metallic golden Chalcopyrites can be seen as well. The piece is in good shape, save one contact on the Barite matrix where it was removed from the pocket. The Calcites are translucent when backlit, with crystals measuring up to 3.1 cm across. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#11777). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
