Calcite on Mottramite

Item Description

A beautiful trio of GEMMY, colorless, compressed rhombic crystals of Calcite with attractive stepped modifying faces measuring up to 2.6 cm, associated with dark olive-green Mottramite from one of, if not THE greatest mineral localities in the world. The Calcites are in fine shape and you can see that they are nearly WATER-CLEAR when backlit. The underside of the piece features better / more attractive "spire"-like aggregates of Mottramite than the top, so it's really a two-sided specimen, with each angle offering something different. A very attractive example of this classic material. Even common minerals like Calcite were found in superb quality examples at Tsumeb, and the Mottramites are some of the best in the world for what they are.
