Item Description

What an aesthetic specimen of Calcite on Mottramite from Tsumeb. This elegant small cabinet piece has a smooth, botryoidal foundation of smooth, dull lustered, bright mint green Mottramite that is ringed by dozens of lustrous, transparent, faintly yellow tinged, perfectly formed Calcite crystals. The Calcites are sharply formed rhombohedrons from 3 mm to 1.3 cm on edge with great luster. They form an almost complete wreath around the periphery of the piece with the bright light green Mottramite in pistachio green color, at the center! The piece has amazing composition with nice color contrast. There is no damage to the display face and only contacting at the bottom. A very alluring and aesthetics combination piece! Note the old label was for Conichalcite but many old specimens with this color have been checked and found to be Mottramite (we have not analysed this one, and err on the side of caution). The piece has a unique aesthetic, obvious from the video. Valued $4000-5000.
