These specimens are modern day classics. They are some of the most well-known Calcites from China, which is saying something considering the bounty of specimens on the market. This small cabinet specimen featuring a predominant sharp, stout, scalenohedral crystal of translucent colorless Calcite surrounded by dozens of smaller accenting Calcites of equal quality sitting atop a reddish-orange (iron-bearing) oxidized matrix. The main Calcite measures 4.5 cm long, and with the exception of one little nick on the termination, is in great shape.
