Item Description
Gemmy, golden-amber calcite scalenohedrons, to about 6 mm, are attractively strewn on the sculptural small cabinet matrix of basalt and calcite covered with glassy, lustrous, gemmy to translucent, tabular, hydroxyapophyllite-(K) crystals. This showy and excellent combination is from a well-known extinct Virginia trap rock quarry and was collected in 1965, according to the former dealer label. Bright ghostly white LW UV calcite fluorescence. Mineral specimens are seldom available from the Old Goose Creek Quarry and this is a good one.
