Calcite on gemmy Sphalerite

Item Description

A robust and aesthetic combination specimen of glassy, lenticular, calcite rhombs to 4.2 jauntily set upright on sparkly, drusy quartz covered matrix and gorgeous, gemmy, deep cherry-red to reddish-orange sphalerite crystals. Minimal bruising is noted to the edges of some of the calcites and on sphalerites on the bottom of the piece. This remains a very attractive and highly representative example of the combination species. The flattened calcite rhombs are very large from the locale.
