Calcite on Fluorite (old classic) ex Obodda

Flattened calcite rhombs richly and attractively cover the purple fluorite matrix on this showy and excellent combination old-timer from Alston Moor. The frosted, translucent, colorless rhombs reach 3.5 cm. You can see the purple fluorite peering out in a couple of spots. In great shape overall, with just a couple of gently bruised rhomb edges. This fine piece displays beautifully from either side. Classic combination material from this historic district from the Herb Obodda dealer stock. Valued by Herb at $600, five or more years ago. Both species fluoresce! The rich purple of the fluorite overwhelms the light pink of calcite.
