Item Description
Here we have a wonderful, eye-catching association specimen from the famed Huanggang Mine in Inner Mongolia featuring a group of flattened "disc"-like crystals of very soft pink (nearly white) Calcite crystals measuring 3.0 cm across, which are aesthetically flaring out of GEMMY, lustrous sharp, completely colorless, octahedral ''ice'' crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 2.2 cm across sitting atop a matrix of black Sphalerite. The Fluorites live up to their nickname of ''ice'' crystals as they are devoid of color (which actually means they are chemically pure, as impurities create the color). No major damage I can find. Fine quality and now much harder to find on the market than they were just a few years ago. This particular piece was mined in 2011. Valued $2,200.
