Calcite on Fluorite

Item Description

Calcite on fluorite specimens are very uncommon from the well-known mines at Muzquiz. One corner of this large, intensely stepped-growth cubic fluorite piece is covered with very nifty rosettes of tiny spiky calcite crystals. The pretty purple, color-zoned cubes are underlain by colorless fluorite. Interestingly, no fluorescence. A showy and excellent older combination rarity from this locale with multiple display views. Ex Robert Fender Collection and dates to the 1960s or 70s.
