Calcite on Fluorite

Item Description

Sharp hexagonal crystals of translucent, light yellow Calcite with white porcelain caps sitting on a matrix of a translucent sugary, mint-green massive Fluorite. The larger main Calcite crystal is 3.0 x 2.8 x 2.6 cm in size. The Calcites are in good condition with some etching of the crystals and minor wear on the termination. The Calcites fluoresce yellow while the Fluorite has a purple fluorescence under LW UV. A very interesting combination and uncommon Calcite crystalline form for the locale (the crystals LOOK like they are from Fozichong, another calcite mine - but the fluorite itself is clearly from Xianghualing area so we are going with Kurt's original data on that). Ex. Kurt Hefendehl, and old material surely from the 1990s when Chinese minerals first started coming out.
