Item Description
An 8 cm crystal of dramatic, scalenohedral calcite shoots up from matrix of marcasite and dolomite, on this classic old Viburnum piece, from the Viburnum trend lead mining district of Missouri. This district hit its heyday in the 1970s, and many of these specimens were still around in the 1980s, but have since disappeared gradually from the market. This is a nice large piece. Old label is from Larry Nuelle of Brass Rooster Minerals, the dealership in the district, located right off an interstate in Rolla, Missouri. He used to get the good stuff!
