Calcite on Dolomite (rare combo - fluorescent)

Striking, lustrous, striated, translucent nailhead calcite rhombs are artistically clustered in parallel-growth and isolated on the strikingly contrasting large matrix plate covered with rare lustrous, iron oxide-tinted, saddle-shaped dolomite rhombs from the well-known Tsumeb mine!!! This is a fabulous, classic oldTsumeb specimen with remarkable contrast. The red color of the dolomite (due to hematite tinting) really makes the disc-shaped rhombohedra stand out. The dramatically set isolated largest vertical crystal is 4.0 cm across. This is pristine except only a few very minor dings. It is certainly an old specimen. Tsumeb is famous for outstanding calcite specimens and this is an exceptional and RARE combination we do not normally see. Pink fluorescence. Valued at $1500-2000.
