Gemmy with superb, glassy luster, these Calcite rhombs are simply a classic style from the great Tsumeb Mine. The rhombs reach up to 1.1 cm on edge, and they vary from nicely exposed, individual rhombs to intergrown, nearly stacked crystals. A close look reveals that virtually all the Calcites have sharp, modified corners that subtly add a great deal to the aesthetics. The outstanding and uncommon pure-pink fluorescence is glorious. With the Calcites resting on a bed of microcrystalline Dolomites, this is a quality, representative miniature for this storied locality. Even better in person, and the fluorescence takes the quality and aesthetics to a whole other level.
