Item Description

Two generations of calcite coat this sculptural and showy combination specimen from the famous mines at Charcas. A striking cluster of intergrown, glassy and translucent, doubly terminated calcite crystals to 3.3 cm caps this mounded piece. The large, horizontal, intergrown, danburite crystals are nearly totally covered with sparkly, tiny, dogtooth calcite crystals, which really gives the piece a fine, drusy appearance. The capping calcite cluster is complete all-around and pristine. Contacting is noted on the backside of the piece, but is mostly out of sight. Excellent older material from this noted locale. Ex Dick Heck Collection.
