Calcite on Chaldedony (classic locale)

Item Description

Calcite specimens from Irai are world class and this is an impressive and aesthetic large plate. Variably-sized, frosted, colorless, scalenohedrons with nailhead terminations are strikingly studded on the thin crust of floral-patterned chalcedony. The large calcite is about 4.7 cm long. Once abundunt, very little new material has been seen in the last few years. The interior is in great shape and the bit of periphery wear/broken crystals (nearly all of one side) have negligible impact on this choice large specimen. Eminently displayable from either side and one side is essentially pristine.
