Isolated, sculptural clusters of very glassy, coloress calcite scalenohedrons are dramatically scattered on mounded matrix on this aesthetic, two-sided specimen from Tsumeb. The large, 3.3 cm diverging spray looks twinned, but it's not. Other sprays on this nifty piece have a floral or fan-like look. The matrix consists vuggy, densely intergrown, tiny sparkly gray calcite rhombs. Complete all-around and pristine. A very fine and unusual style 360-degree calcite from Tsumeb and the Josef Vajdak Collection. Tsumeb is renowned for calcite diversity and quality and this is a good one. Valued at $595 by a former dealer.
