Item Description

Lustrous, chocolate-brown, dogtooth calcite crystals have a striking overgrowth of secondary calcite rhombs on this dramatic large hedgehog specimen from the famous mines at Santa Eulalia. Amazingly pristine, except for out of sight periphery wear on the back side. Excellent and classic old-time material from this time period from the Harold Urish Collection # 930. The piece was used in an exhibit at one time, as the label with a 1975 date has a wooden block behind it to prop it up.
