Calcite on Calcite

Item Description

An attractive scalenohedral Calcite measuring 7.1 cm long is aesthetically sitting on a plate of smaller iron-bearing red crystallized Calcite on matrix. Very good condition all the way around, save one small nick on the termination of the large Calcite crsytal, and it's certainly unusual to see such a large Calcite crystal on such smaller Calcite matrix. It should be noted that an unusual unidetified green mineral can be seen on the reverse side of the specimen. It would most likely require analysis to be properly identified. These were fairly common on the market 10 years ago, and they seem to be all but gone.
