Item Description

The Trepča Stari Trg Mine in Kosovo is a major specimen producer, yielding some excellent pieces of well-known carbonates like Calcite. This piece is a beautiful and showy display specimen featuring gorgeous, light pink (slightly manganese-bearing), compressed vitreous rhombs of Calcite which are sitting on a prior generation of ivory colored crystals of Calcite, creating an attractive small cabinet. No major damage that I can find and it really sits nicely on its own without a base or clay for easy display. A lovely piece of this well-known and in my opinion, under-appreciated material.
