Item Description

Artistic florets of glassy, translucent, white, paper-thin to rhombohedral calcite crystals are aesthetically clustered on the large, sculptural, jackstraw matrix of intergrown, oxide-coated, tabular baryte blades. The large baryte is 3.2 cm on the diagonal. Two spots of unexpected SW UV neon-green Hyalite Opal fluorescence on the calcites are a fine bonus. Periphery wear on the 'B' side can be strongly minimized by the correct display angle. The piece looks good from either side. A fine, older combination, formerly in the Ben H. Parker, Sr. Collection, dating from circa 1975 or earlier. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020. The extinct Juanita Mine is near the famous Kelly Mine and combination specimens of this quality and richness are uncommon from here.
