Calcite on Barite (ex Urish Collection)

Item Description

An unusual and attractive associaton specimen of bladed, white, lustrous, gemmy Calcite crystals on soft orange color tabular tetragonal Wulfenite crystal matrix. The piece is very showy with good aesthetics and overall quality. The piece comes to us from the collection of Harold Urish, whose label states that it's from the "La Juanita Mine, Kelly", but I can't a reference for this name, so we're going to leave it as the Kelly Mine for all intents and purposes. The Wulfenite is definitely reminsicent of Kelly Wulfenites, but I've never seen one with beautiful Calcites like this piece. If you collect New Mexico minerals, you shouldn't miss out on this one, as they're rare on the market, and this one is really eye-catching.
