Item Description
The famous and prolific Trepča Stari Trg Mine in the former Yugoslavia for many years was a source of excellent crystallized mineral specimens, predominantly various sulfides/sulfosalts, along with Calcite, Dolomite, Quartz, etc. Recently the production has been reinvigorated, yielding many attractive display quality pieces. This specimen features a couple "stepped" trigonal crystal of white Calcite measuring up to 1.1 cm long sitting superbly well-formed, metallic, silvery colored prismatic crystals of Arsenopyrite, with the largest individual crystal measuring about 1.0 cm, along with minor associated Quartz. No major damage, only roughness along the periphery where the piece was removed from the pocket wall.
