Item Description
Rarely do we see nice Calcites from Austria and this one is really good, the quality that we see in material from Dalnegorsk and not from central Europe! It's a large, 5 cm across, translucent off-white, highly modified rhombohedron set on a small plate of Albite crystals. The big Calcite also hosts a subtle secret, a white, 3 cm, perfectly formed, phantom Calcite rhombohedron at its interior! The large crystal is perched aesthetically on a small plate of matrix that is festooned with 3 mm to 1 cm, interlocking, bone-white Albite crystals. Highly unusual. Also, as a bonus, this is nicely fluorescent a beautiful orange color under shortwave UV light.
