Item Description

Mineral specimens from the St. Louis, Missouri area are very rare and are seldom on the market. Glassy, transparent to translucent, rich golden-amber to coloress calcite rhombs cover the sculptural CABINET plate. The gem-like rhombs reach 1.0 cm and many have nifty stepped-growth faces. Old-time material and comes with a faded, thin paper, pen-and-ink label (ca. 1890 or older). Moderate scattered purple fluorescence.
