Item Description
Rare and exceptional old-time calcite from this ancient well-known and extinct Swiss Fe-Mn mine, closed in 1966. A very aesthetic and sculptural cluster of intergrown rhombohedrons with gray inclusions is dominated by the impressive pristine 5.7 x 5.1 x 4.5 cm crystal. The translucent rhombs have glassy to muted satin lustre faces. The old cloth label on the back tells you that this is an old-timer. This very fine piece displays well without aid.
