Item Description
A wonderful big showy old-time specimen from Příbram that comes with a classic label from Josef Vajdák / Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value. An old label from the Museum Regni Bohemiae (National Museum {Prague}) dates the piece to circa 1868. This specimen reminds me of an old English classic, featuring a group of sharp, well-formed, lustrous, translucent, soft beige colored, steep tapered scalenohedrons, free of matrix. Most of the crystals are undamaged, though some of them are either contacted or cleaved, so the piece is not completely pristine, but the fact that the piece is over 150 years old is what really matters. Valued $1,200.
