Item Description

This is the classic "poker chip" habit of Calcite, for which the Charcas mine is famous. The largest crystal is 2 cm across, and the arrangement of the cluster is highly sculpural and geometric. In fact, if MC Escher were putting these poker chips together, I have little doubt it would come out looking just like this. Complete all around and 3-dimensional, this is an excellent Calcite cluster with great aesthetics! From the extensive collection of Bob Reynolds, who cherished both minerals and fossils as he collected. Bob is a prolific author and has had several curating positions in museums.
