Calcite (old classic - fluorescent)

Item Description

A showy and excellent old-time calcite from the historic mines at St Andreasberg. Classic, glassy, translucent, nailhead spar crystals, with very interesting frosted terminations, are aesthetically set on the layered "presentation table" limestone matrix. The crystals reach 2.6 cm on this 360-degree architectural piece. Over 100 years old, as the last mine closed in 1910. Pink fluorescence. Comes with three century-old faded labels, including one on the specimen. Classic and excellent St Andreasberg calcite.
