Item Description
Classic and adorable old-time miniature calcite from the famous Bigrigg Mine. A 2.7 cm very glassy, gemmy scalenohedron is dramatically set on the limonite matrix plate covered with smaller calcites. Bigrigg calcites are world-famous from this extinct iron mine and are highly desirable English and European classics. These were generally found in the mid- to late 1800s. Ex Fluck Pierre Fluck [b. October 29, 1947] and Shields Flynn Collections. An elegant miniature with striking artistic quality.
