Calcite (old classic)

Item Description

Here we have a beautiful old classic Calcite from Bisbee. Many of these pieces actually survived back in the day (100+ years ago) because the miners were allowed to take them home since they contained to ore value. This beautiful cluster of vitreous, modified trigonal crystals features a strong orange-red hue, darker than most I've seen and is in fairly good condition on all sides. Only a few minor rough spots can be seen on the top, and a couple of cleavages can be seen on the back, but they're not visible from the display side. The specimen almost looks like it was sculpted from wax due to the unique shape and luster on the surface. These particular Calcites are among my favorites from Bisbee for their fantastic form and beautiful color. Valued at $950.
