Item Description

An impressive, large, old-time calcite from the Kansas portion of Tri-State Disrict. The highly modified scalenohedron is lustous and translucent with rich golden-yellow color. Very interestingly, the trigonal termination faces are very smooth and the interior is quite gemmy. Adding pizzazz, the prism faces are either densely rippled with stepped-growth or appear nubby/etched. Nearly pristine, this dramatic and classic large 360-degree calcite has only a trivial bit of rubbing.
