Item Description
SUPERB Calcite specimen from the Cuyuna Ranges in Minnesota. Composed of several generations of excellent Calcites, this small cabinet specimen is dominated by one single 5.4 cm crystal. This large Calcite is lustrous, gemmy to translucent, and the beveled edges themselves are modified and striated. Such luster, form, and partial gemminess give the piece a beauty all its own, and I really have not seen its equal from this area. Formerly in the collection of Richard A. Blackman. From the collection of East Coast collector, George Elling, specializing in historic minerals of the East Coast and minerals from the development of old European mineralogy.
